Hey Crickets, go fuck yourselves and thanks for the discussion and mention. Thoughtful points on my track and I appreciate the feedback. Long intros can be a bold move & cost too much attention span (on this platform) but when it does grab someone it becomes a more intimate listening experience and results in capturing intrigue instead of ear candy that fades into the ether. Id rather have 100 listeners and a couple keep coming back then 1000 who simply move on to the next thing. Sometimes its nice to get away from perfectly sterile mixes and generic formulas and just throw some paint on the canvas and try something different. Cheers!

P.s to put things into perspective Im 40 years old and what you guys consider "old school" is my only school. My mixing console is older then both of you put together and its absolutely not clean.

GoodL responds:

Keep up the great work!!

Packtion responds:

Thanks!

I like this! If it were mine Id get rid of the synth keep that sweet 80s sounding bassline keep the drums and add a nice snare in there!

ionjump responds:

Thanks!!

I can hear the improvements on the music and vocal mix. Its cleaner.
Vibes remind me of The Cure in some ways. Melody is simple but catchy.

*Experiment using a delay/reverb pedal in realtime on your voice when you do your practicing. Effects on vocals added in afterwards during production lose part of the organic feel.

djnet responds:

Oh, I never really thought about it but you're right. We recorded the vocals clean, I bet it would have felt more natural that way though.

Thanks for the review
:D

Don't take the pill for christs sake!!

djnet responds:

That's why I love music, it lets me express things that I have experienced throughout my life...

I see potential in your skills as a music producer but if you want my honest opinion
who do you really think people are gonna think of when they hear this song?
ahem (not you)
If you want to make a mark in the electronic scene and possibly even have a career in the music industry you'll need to use those skills in a more original way using your own ideas.
Just being honest man.

SoundHawk responds:

I appreciate you taking the time to voice your opinion. I believe people who listen to my music will know this is me because of the original sounds I've created. In case I did not make myself clear in the description, the only semi-unoriginal thing in this track is the vocals, which have been sliced, edited, EQ'd and mastered by me to fit into this track. Every note you hear is my own original creation, I believe the vocals serve only to augment the track and distinguish my sounds. My only aspirations are to create great music, whether that makes me famous or not is not my concern.
